Welcome to Coffee Shorts, home of the very best independent short films on the web

Submissions

If you make great short films, animations or music videos we'd like to hear from you.

Through our web channels we attract high numbers of views and subscribers for superb quality independent filmmaking; surfers know that when they come to Coffee Shorts they'll find some of the very best indie film and music talent around, with no home movies, goof offs or cute pets diluting the content.

We work out advertising revenue opportunities on your behalf taking just a regular distributor's commission to cover our costs. In the future we hope to exploit film screenings, DVD collections, podcasts and a bunch of other things designed to get your work seen and raising finances for your next piece.

We welcome any genre of quality independent filmmaking made on any budget, format or subject but we will only add really exceptional work, so before submitting do us and your fellow filmmakers a favour and ask yourself honestly if your film is as strong as the others on this site, if it isn't then you won't get in.

You give us a non-exclusive right to show your work across the Internet, agree not to upload a duplicate copy of your film onto Metacafe, Metrofunk or Ifilm and most importantly you promise that the work is your own and that you have the necessary clearances from your cast, crew, musicians, record label and anyone else to sign away these non-exclusive rights.

Sounding promising? Then here's how you submit, no obligations whatsoever;

Load a really good quality copy (up to 100mb) of your short film onto DailyMotion; their video quality is considered the best!

Send the video link to us at admin@coffeeshorts.co.uk

If we like it we'll email you back with our simple distribution agreement to check out, it includes full details of our commission rates and all the websites and channels we use.

You agree to the terms by sending it back to us digitally signed off with an email address for your Paypal account.

We'll copy the film over from Dailymotion to our archive on Metacafe and out to all our web channels; you'll start earning money and getting views straight away.

Every three months we'll calculate everyone's earnings, send it to your Paypal account and drop you an email with details for your records, we can pay individuals or companies but in all cases you do have to take care of your own tax arrangments.

Simple right? We hope so. We can't tell you how much you'll earn as it's going to vary from month to month depending on how much ad revenue comes in and how many views your film gets, but we'll work hard to get all of the films exposure by running multiple genres on the channels and regularly reviving archived content back onto the main system so that everyone benefits from bigger audiences in the future.

If you do have any other questions then mail us at admin@coffeeshorts.co.uk

We're looking forward to seeing your stuff...

Coffee Shorts will hold around 50 short films at any one time before starting to archive the oldest. All our shorts remain live on Metacafe and we'll regularly be running selections from the archives to ensure even our first filmmakers can reap the benefit of a larger audience further down the line.
